sex, drugs, alcohol, and a degree

in the society we live in today, university has become the epitome of intellect. it is the place where young men and women go to in order to recieve a proper education and become valuable men and women of society.

funny isnt it?

its funny how university develops these strengths in the youth of today and trains them in terms of knowledge, yet fails in so many other cases.
sex. drugs. alcohol.
universtiy is a place of higher education. it attracts a crowd of today's youth who have future goals and aspirations -- they (we) all want to be successful members of the job market in the near future, whether that be as an accountant, a lawyer, and ENGINEER (:D:D:D), an entrepreneur, well, you get the point. well, knowledge alone won't get you there. professionalism people, professionalism. professionalism? hmmm...sex, drugs and alcohol. real professional there guys. i don't blame the universities for these shortcomings. they are not the ones responsible. in most cases, they enforce rules that prevent these things from happening. they stop and prohibit underaged drinking and illicit drug use. and well as for sex? they can only do so much. they can't stop people from being so...shall we say..."liberal" about their sexual desires. they can't tell people not to have sex with jock/bimbo on campus, all they can do is tell people to wear a condom, or cover their drink in a bar. thats as far as the university can go in terms of "teaching" professinalism. the rest is up to us.
you and i. the youth. a change is required. a paradigm shift. people need to know that you dont need drugs and alcohol to have a good time. and if you do, well, then you need to find some real friends. and as for sex? people need to learn that there is so much more to love than sex. that one does not have to show love for another in such a way. that there are other methods. that it is not essential to have sex in a given "serious" relationship. our youth need to learn that dressing in a "meat market" fashion in order to attract attention will only attract the wrong kind of attraction. girls, understand, that bearing it all like that speaks volumes about you as a person and will only attract the guys who will not love you for who you are but for what you are. . which brings me to my next point: objectification. you have no idea how much crap i've heard here with guys who simply objectify women. its terrible. it makes me sick. guys who are here for NO OTHER REASON but to "check out hot chicks"...aingelirnvlsdfjaunblsjfoaijfalisdjf

university amplifies two things:
1) the genuine thirst for knowledge and a desire to succeed among the brightest assets of the future.
2) the darkest flaws of society.

i've said this before. im such an old man. a grumpy old fart if you will.

well. grumpy or not, you probably have morals that most of your peers, at that school of yours, don't.

objectification is inevitable. why? well, simply because people don't have the morals that we grew up with. You tell them not to do things on the merit that those things don't meet your standards.

Unfortunately, even christians don't meet the best morals. How do you think God feels every time you do something idiotic?

i think the only thing in your post that COULD be flawed would be assuming that people in university have sex for love... cuz for all you know, they're just being "liberal" as you say and taking advantage of the moment and having sex for the sake of the act. no other real reason.. people are stupid.

Hey dude, hope you're having fun at uni! But yeah, awesome to see that you keep your morals up in such an environment.

Good thing you're not at York. It's so much more worse here!

Oh yeah. This comment is now for Karwai.

Please ignore my nonsense :p
I seriously couldn't resist.
Ask Karwai about it. Then develop this little inside thing me and Karwai share. It's seriously fun :p
