50 cent should come out with a line of fragrences.
that way, he can call it:

50 scent.
or if thats not cool enough, he can replace the 's' with a dollar sign

so it can be 50 $cent

and if its a whole line as opposed to just one, it can be (get this):

50'$ $cent$

think thats overdoing the $$$?...i think NOT!

screw engineering...im going into marketing.

you know whats lame?
what?
when people put things in their msn names like [2/7] referring to the number of exams...or anything about exams at all for that matter. look, we all have exams, and we all have to study, and we all have things to worry about...but you know what? no one needs to know how many exams you have left. no one needs to know that you're freaking out about your exam tomorrow becuase you havent started studying. no one cares. no one cares. get that through your head. stop complaining about your stress level in your name. its cliche, its lame, and you know what? youre not special.
and another thing, names with "i hate you, [insert course name here]". first off, you're only sayting that because you're probablay too dumb to have learnt anything from that class. and second, if you hate it THAT much then ive got news for you buddy. maybe you dont belong in that program. love what you do. seriuosly. no one (with the exception of a few) is forcing you to be here studying what you study. consider it a blessing. enjoy what you will be doing in the future, and enjoy the voyage it takes to get you there. its not easy, but you can still appreciate it. so do us all a favour. if you hate the course that much, instead of just complainining about it and making everyone's day worse, just drop out.
thank you.

bye.

why am i so angry these days? :(

[why, good morning to you too]

yesterday at church, when we were all asked to greet one another, i turned around and said good morning to the couple that sat behind me. i shook the husband's hand, a good solid, confident handshake -- just what i had been practicing for coop. then i shook his wife's hand with the same sort of confidence and firm-ness that her husband gave me.

and thats when it all went wrong.

as i shook her hand, i just felt her hand just curl inside mine in a sort of half collapse. i swear i imploded her hand. i let go immediately...oh man was i scared. i kept smiling politely as though nothing happened and turned around. not once did i look back after that...

:S

note to self: soft handshakes...its not a competition.

WHAT?! its not?

tuesday was such a good day.
i was unproductive, and didnt reach any of my academic goals for that day. i told myself i would finish my economics assignment and start and finish my materials assignment, but i did nothing but 2 questions for materials and "almost" finished my econ assignment.
but thats not the point.
it was a good day, and i felt accomplished. i felt like that day had meaning and it happened for a reason. i had numerous good talks with with many good people. i felt like i helped people out, and i found out a lot about myself and others. today really made me understand that God put people in my life for a reason and put me in other people's lives for a reason. perhaps ive finally found my niche?

anyways, helping a froshie in calc last night reminded me of an oooold oooold post i had back in first year. i was told by my classmate once in my physics tutorial that i should become a TA. revisitting that thought, im not sure that'd be such a bad idea. definately something i'd consider in grad school.
sleep time now.

lates.

[my windows media player is retarded]

i hate the random function on my windows media player. i swear it has this stupid little mini playlist and it just cycles through that ONE playlist. i keep hearing the same songs OVER and OVER again...and i do not have a small library. gah. that defeats the whole point of random!

in other news, apparently im getting better at hockey now. i had one person tell me that i improved a lot since the beginning of the season and another told me i looked a lot more comfortable on the ice today. sweeeeeeet.

...so where do i sign up for the nhl?

...damn windows media player...

friggin eric signed me up for facebook last night at 3am while we were working in the lab. stupid kid. and i SWEAR all i was going to do was sign in and delete the account. HONEST!!! that was all...but then i got hooked...but one thing i realized (other than the lame factor of the "eric and simon are now friends" crap and being all pansy-ass about it) was that i have REALLY lost touch with a lot of my friends from high school. it seems like my friends travel with me. and i dont mean my friends go where i go, i mean my friends are where i am. and if i go somewhere else, lose them...and well, if history repeats itself, then things arent looking too hot for me. i think this is why i take pictures. im a camera whore. i like to be in every picture. and i think part of the reason is that i want to remember. i want to remember the times i had and the friendships that once were. i dont want to go somewhere, leave them behind, and have nothing to show for it...even if it was a lie

[sidenote: nathan, get the hell out of my room, im not blogging]

getting back to my point...ah i lost my train of thought. im hungry. and im all sweaty and gross from practice. and i need to get back to my beloved facebook.

[after hours]

so what was i doing tonight from 1am-3am? why skating of course!
sean had this crazy (stupid) idea last week to go to kitchener city hall and play dodgeball on skates. we didnt have time to buy a dodgeball, so instead we just used a frisbee, but it just turned out to be sean, eric and i playing frisbee on ice while winnie and belinda froze on the sidelines watching. a number of stupid falls, back spins, krumping, and a few sketchy characters later, we decided to open up eric's coffeetime across the street for hot chocolate and stale muffins. which was sketch because the cops were going up and down the street the whole time while we were skating, but luckily they didnt drop by while we were in the coffeetime...because, well, that wouldnt have turned out too hot.

but anyways im tired now. sleep time.

o beeteedoublyu, i was at OUCH2k6 today...thats right...ontario university competition for hip hop...and i'll just say i thoroughly enjoyed it. it definately brought out the inner hip hop in me that was just itching to show its face.
mcmaster won, but thats only cuz they had ernest on their team. THATS RIGHT! ernest does hip hop now! and you guys thought it was just varsity soccer? pffft. nope.

(just kidding about the ernest part)

[just a thought]

it's something thats been bothering me lately. i dont think Christianity is supposed to fit nicely into neatly packaged acronyms and analogies. personally, i think analogies omit certain things and introduce new arguments. i think messages lose meaning when speakers try to come up with too many analogies. and when things are intentionally put into acronyms, then important things get missed and random crap is put in because the letter fits. oh and another thing about acronyms, lets please try to be sensitive to those whose language has no alphabet.

i dont like it at all. sure its a great memory aid, but i think it takes away from the true meaning.
which takes me to another point. similar, but not quite. people tend to overanalyze things in bible studies. sometimes what is there is all there is. sometimes there is no deeper meaning to it. perhaps, just maybe, one idea might not be linked to another idea simply becuase one word is similar. it takes me back to everything i hated in english all throughout highschool. and that was find pointless meaning in ordinary writing. or finding meaning in art when the artist had intended no meaning outside of the obvious. dont get me wrong, i appreciate art, and i can appreciate artists, im just saying that sometimes there is no meaning. and sometimes there is meaning, but you're missing it and you're just putting words in the mouth of the artist. so too it is with the word of God. tangent: and the absolute worst is when we have "biblical, Christian debates" where people just pull things out of the Bible WAYYYY out of context and make something out of something completely different. but back to my original point, i think somtimes things are just the way they are, and there is no use in trying to sound intellectual and putting words into the Bible that weren't there originally. i think sometimes what Jesus said in his parables was all there was. We know what he meant when he said those parables because we know the context. His disciples would ask him a quesiton, and he would answer it with a parable. you know the question, and He gives you the answer in a story. dont take other messages from the story. dont look at other "technicalities" and try to make auxiliary lessons from them.

and another thing, about technicalities. when people pick significance in words. not im not talking about words like love or pharisee or God or boat etc. (those were random words that came to mind) those are non-negotiable words. im talking about prepositions and [insert fancy word pertaining to grammar here]s such as in or of etc. words that can be easily replaced. lets try to remember the original texts of the bible were NOT written in english. words get lost in translation. significant words retain their meaning, but the insignificant words (that end up being significant when people try to overanalyze them) get lost, or get put in place by translators because the word didnt exist in the original language. perhaps there is no significance in the word in in that particular verse. dont try to make anythning out of it. it was there becuase the two words sandwiching it had needed some sort of a link. just a possibility. remember, the null set is a set nonetheless.

going back to the point i made at the beginning of this post. i guess what bugs me is not the analogies themselves, but what people do about these analogies. not everyone understands them, and people inevitable end up taking them out of context, missing the original point. and i think the worst is when we waste time during bible studies picking apart at useless, meaningless technicalities in analogies.

in other news:
to add to the list of stupid things i do with people from my program: (on top of playing squash with 30 bouncy balls) tomorrow night (laaaaate at night) we're going to go to city hall to play dodgeball on skates.

peace out y'all

[class of idiots]

everyone makes supply teachers cry. everyone makes babysitters cry. we've all made our parents cry. we make a lot of people cry actually.

but...

when was the last time a class full of bright minded university students made their prof cry?

yeap, we made our prof cry today.

wait, didnt catch that?

WE MADE OUR PROF CRY TODAY!

i honestly hate my class. the mob mentality is ridiculous. as soon as one person has one opinion and decides not to like a particar class and a particular prof, its all over. they'll have the whole class on their side in no time. its retarded. nobody knows what they want. all they know is what the want is what she can't deliver. my class is like a parent you cant please. our class will give "helpful" hints to the prof and tell her what to do more of and what to do less of, and in the end, theyll hate her for what she did when she listened to OUR advice. we're all retards, save for a small handfull. this isnt the first time our class has collectively and openly hated a prof. its just cuz most of my class is too dumb to actually listen and actually try to understand.

take for example physics from last year. we hadnt learned integration in calc yet, but already we had to use it in physics. so, instead of listening to the prof and trying to hear what he had to say, they all deemed him a bad prof. he taught us the basic calc that we needed. seriousy, it was simple crap. and just because you are too dumb to tell your ass from the ass of the next guy does not make our prof bad. the only valid thing against him was his drawing. he couldnt draw for crap, but that was it. he explained things well enough, and the integration required for the course was simple enough thta we didnt need a sufficient calc background. too bad my class was too dumb to understand simple calc.
...engineers...
dumbasses, all of you.

:)

sorry prof. papoulia
