all my friends are superheroes (except you)

so last night, victor and i were eating dinner in his room and we were just talking about everything. it was weird because i shared things with him that i hadn't shared with anyone else (almost) before, and i've known him for how long? but it was nice. then we did some algebra homework (and by "did" i mean, i was productive...he was not).
that was only half the fun. we got started working on our report and got another chunk of it done. we then decided that we would go and shoot some pool when we were finished with what we had to do on the report.
12 rolled around, we headed downstairs where i bought some food, and saw the pool table was taken. so we walked to MKV and saw that table was taken as well. we then trekked all the way to REV where they had two tables. however, both tables were taken. so we asked both groups how long they would be, and the answer to both was "not long". so we just waited there for a few minutes. then one person from one of the tables leaves, and the other guy asks if we wanted to play with him because he "needed practice". we were both kind of reluctant to play with him because we just wanted to play each other, but we decided we would anyways so the walk to REV wouldnt have been in vain. so we start playing, and about two minutes later, the other table opens up and im thinking, if only we had waited, we could have played by ourselves. but o well, the game had started, so might as well go through with it.
we ended up playing two games with this guy, and let me tell you, this guy is the cockiest jerkoff ever. o man, by the second game i just wanted to walk away and leave. and victor was pretty pissed off too, but he wanted to stay and beat this guy to destroy his ego. (we couldn't beat him in case you're wondering). but yea, he was just insulting us the whole time, and even asked "do you guys take philosophy? because you are long [insert profanity here]-ing thinkers!"...wow...jerkoff...
but yea, after the second game, i didnt even say anything, i jsut grabbed my jacket and left. victor followed suite. as soon as we got outside, we just looked at each other and started laughing. this guy was suuuuuch an ass. but on our way back, we stopped by MKV and lo and behold, there was a free table! this was about 1ish. so we played, just him and i this time, until 2. we thought it would have been pretty funny if we saw that guy again, but we didnt.
anyways, back to homework.
p.s. wcf on friday was good.
p.p.s. :(

so instead of getting dc++, i have been downloading sample tracks off of the epitaph site -- which has killed (relatively) my bandwidth. i am currently closer than i ever have been to the 7 day limit, although karwai would dismiss this as nothing, since he has been infinately closer than i have and ever will be, and has, in fact, gone over the limit. but anyhow, i now have a slightly larger music library.

It’s easy to imagine there will beSorrowYeah there will beSorrowAnd there will be Sorrow, no moretoday i contemplated long and hard about whether or not to get DC++ ... i decided no. i made my choice a long time ago, and i have decided to stick by my values. and this way, paul wont have to KILL me for being a sellout and jumping on the bandwagon. see paul, im still hardcore!
remind you of anything karwai?
but it was tempting indeed.
why does being honest in today's society cost so much?
o well, its hmv, futureshop, and random slc cd sales for me and my lonely wallet.
im going to see how long i can stay off msn for. i wonder. well, i have my reasons, and its not the typical "i need to stay off msn to do homework", although that is a small factor. sigh.
msn, you have served me well.
NOT!
i finally beat half life today.
in closing, karwai is the best. :D (buddyo)

millencolin got their name from melancholy. cool trick. awesome band. not such a great feeling.
awards dinner was tonight. it was a dissapointment, but i got to meet some cool upper year civils. we talked a little. they left without saying bye, which i found rather rude considering the fact that we sat at the same table, but hey, what can you do?
speaking of rude, karwai and i were walking through the slc and we bumped into someone from ccf. i guess she was in a hurry because she was really rushing. but we saw her, said hi, and she said "hello, how are you guys doi--" as she blasted by us.
if you are not going to stick around for a reply, just dont ask altogether. whats the point? has society degraded those words down to just a simple meaningless greeting that is said just out of "common courtesy"? i dont know. i mean, i wont hold it against her or anything, it was just slightly rude.
just a pet peeve of mine.
on a random f'(x) , eating breakfast makes the day sooo much better. i slept at 3:30 last night, i had an exam today. i ate breakfast and i was super awake for all of my morning lectures and the rest of the day for that matter. let that be a lesson to you all non-breakfast-make-class-a-snooze-fest people.
weekend is coming up.
[insert enthusiastic cheer]
in closing,

so kathleen has decided that next year she will not be returning to waterloo.
which realistically means, that i will never see her again.
she lives in northern ontario and has decided to go to halifax for school because she doesnt like it here. i don't know the details, she said she would drop by and talk to me about it when she gets back this weekend.
but for lack of a better word, this just sucks.
i mean, i dont blame her for leaving. its her choice. and from what ive heard, her reasons are valid and i totally support her, but just the fact that ive gotten to know her and all, and i
know that i will just have to leave everything behind in that friendship in a few short months.
i really dislike being put into situations where you know you will make new friends, yet by that same token, you know you will eventually have to leave them. tc, drivers ed (yes you heard me right, drivers ed), school etc. i guess if you look at it, all of university is like that. i mean you become friends with people and after 4 or 5 years you all depart, head your different ways in life and the chapter closes. i guess its different when the time interval is so much shorter, say, 8 months?
well, at least she is staying for the second term.
i need to buy echoes. The sweet smell of a great sorrow lies over the landPlumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden sky:A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers,But awakes to a morning with no reason for wakingHe's haunted by the memory of a lost paradiseIn his youth or a dream, he can't be preciseHe's chained forever to a world that's departedsigh. yet another great song from another great album.
on another note. its time for me to be super productive. half life...you have consumed an entire week of my life. no touching you for a while. system shock 2, im glad you dont work on karwais computer as of yet. that will keep me away for a good long/short while. maybe i will actually get some work done.
on a side note...i actually enjoy doing my physics homework. no joke. i cant say that about my other courses, but i actually LIKE doing physics. weird huh?
on another side note: recent events have taught me to rely on God more. er...take out the "more" from that sentance. i havent been doing too much of that lately. i need to go back. things in this world will come and go, and someyimes you just have to let them go. i havent really been able to come to terms with that.
i need to just keep trusting in Him.
so i decided to do something different with my blog today.sothingsonthisfloorjustwentfrombadtoworseimeanambulanceandpolicekindofworseandpeoplewerebookedsimplyfortheassociationfactorpeoplewhowerentinvolvedatallpeoplewhowerejusttryingtohelpafriendindireneedofhelp

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were youngIn a world of magnets and miraclesOur thoughts strayed constantly and without boundaryThe ringing of the division bell had begunAlong the long road and on down the causewayDo they still meet there by the cutThere was a ragged band that followed in our footstepsRunning before time took our dreams awayLeaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the groundTo a life consumed by slow decayThe grass was greenerThe light was brighterWith friends surroundedThe nights of wonderi am writing at 8:41am because i woke up too late to catch the early service at CFC. i guess this works out for the better. i initially wanted to go to the second service becuase sean was taking poroshat there and i just wanted to be there with them, you know, like moral support but the second service ends significantly later and i wanted to get back early to do some work. well, now that circumstance has forced me into the second option, i really have no choice no do i?
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizonthough down this road we've been so many times

victor: thanks for caring. thanks for asking. thanks for listening. thanks for understanding. i didnt think you would understand, but you did -- and for that, i thank you.
you rock.
btw, victor doesnt read this.
:(
i hope your computer's doing alright now.
this weekend was great.
commencement was full of fun times and seeing old smiles was nice too.
jeremy's birthday dinner was accompanied by numerous kicks and giggles.
seeing familiar faces, however brief, was comforting.
well, i'll be here till the end of the term.
home sweet home.

so karwai and i were heading out to dinner tonight, and as we walked down the stairs, i said "why do you want to stop by the v1 caf?" in the dumbest, giddiest, most obscure voice EVAR, and lo and behold, i turn the corner and theres this guy coming up the stairs just STARING AT ME with THE LOOK on his face...and i was shocked, and gave him this OH CRAP WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?! look. and then as we walked outside karwai and i just bursted out in laughter.
its just one of those things.
on a second note, last night, as i was sleeping peacefully into the night, karwai wakes me up at 4:00 am to go out...what a psycho!!!
karwai, you jerk!!!
